Peppino Lo Cicero is a retired hitman, proud of the career of his son Nino, who also works for a criminal family. When his son, sent on a mission in the heart of Naples, is gunned down in an ambush, Peppino feels that the family has betrayed him, that something has broken in the ancient pact of loyalty that regulated the old underworld. He calls Totò, known as o' Macellaio, a friend from the past, a hitman like him, to find the man behind the crime and settle the score. They meet at the old weapons cache to figure out what to do. It will be there that Peppino will find Rita, called 'a Maestrina, the woman who has always loved him and who immediately offers to help. The peace of retired life seems a distant memory. First the two old hitmen will go, as the rule prescribes, to see their boss Don Guarino. From here begins the settlement of scores. Thrown back into an endless spiral of violence, Peppino will be forced to reconsider the meaning of a life devoted to crime and the values that govern it.
