Join us in this exploration of how contemporary painters, draftspersons, and sculptors have carried on, challenged, furthered, and broken the tradition that American painter John Singer Sargent (1856-1925) began with his approach to the human figure during the French Belle Époque (the Beautiful Era).

Featuring the works of Alicia Dawn Criswell, Chelsea Lang, Clayton J. Beck III, Don Yang, Jessica Smit Mattingly, Mary Qian, Peter Lupkin, Tina Figarelli, and William Blake, this exhibit offers an opportunity to reflect on how Sargent's legacy carries on and changes.
