South Shore Arts
South Shore Arts has been improving the quality of life along the South Shore
for over 75 years. It all started in the hat department of Minas Department Store in downtown Hammond, Indiana with an annual exhibit of regional artists, known today as the Salon Show.
Located in the Center for Visual and Preforming Arts, in Munster Indiana, South Shore Arts has one other branch locations, Substation No. 9, an inner-city art center in downtown Hammond and exhibits in several locations around the Northwest Indiana Region.
More than 20 exhibitions fill South Shore Arts Galleries throughout the region each year, showcasing regional national and international artists and cultures. Along with exhibitions, a variety of classes for all ages are offered at all three locations.
