Bad at Sports | 21st Anniversary and Season One Wrap Party
Anne & Kern Terrace Garden and Edlis Neeson Theater
Bad at Sports, the world’s oldest contemporary art podcast, wraps its 21-year first season with a series of interview events around the museum. Tailgate in the afternoon with episodes live on the MCA Terrace, followed by a celebratory recording of the climactic and unforgettable episode 999 in the Edlis Neeson Theater.

On Saturday, October 3, Bad at Sports is taking over the lawn behind the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago for The Great Art Tailgate—a free, sprawling, live-broadcast celebration of art, conversation, friendship, and approximately twenty-one years of questionable decision-making.
We want the lawn FULL.
Not “respectable art-event attendance” full.
Tailgate full.
Bring a blanket. Bring a lawn chair. Bring your friends. Bring somebody who has never listened to Bad at Sports. Bring somebody who thinks contemporary art is ridiculous. Bring somebody who thinks contemporary art is the only thing worth talking about.

From 11 AM to 3 PM, we’ll be broadcasting live conversations across the MCA lawn as we count down toward the end of Bad at Sports Season One.
There will be artists.
There will be critics.
There will be beer.
There will be radios.
There will be blankets, lawn games, art people behaving like sports people, and whatever else we manage to assemble between now and October 3.
And yes:
Baddie will be there.
Come get your picture with Baddie and provide future historians with documentary evidence that you participated in one of the stranger art events of 2026.
This is free. This is outside. This is for everyone.

HELP US MAKE THE LAWN BIGGER
The easiest thing you can do for us right now is tell somebody.
Text the event to your friends.
Bring five people.
Bring ten.
If you know somebody who likes art, podcasts, Chicago, tailgating, radio, beer, cultural chaos, or large-scale experiments that probably should have required more adult supervision—invite them.
Let’s see how big an art tailgate we can actually make.
WANT TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT AND WEAR THE SHIRT OF THE TEAM YOU SUPPORT!
Bad at Sports has been independently making conversations about contemporary art for more than two decades.
Represent with something from the Bad at Sports Threadless store.
Shirts. Hoodies. Bags. Stickers. Things bearing evidence of your questionable skill and unwavering commitment to culture.
Buying B@S stuff puts money directly back into making Bad at Sports.
It also makes you considerably easier to identify at the tailgate.
Come to the lawn.
Bring your friends.
Get a picture with Baddie.
Wear something stupid.
Help us finish Season One by making something enormous together.
October 3. MCA. 11 AM.
See you there.
