Monthly Screenings at the Chicago Grand Gallery
This summer, our gallery is thrilled to launch Movie Club, a new monthly series dedicated to international, independent, and cult classic films.
Each month, our space transforms into an intimate screening room where art lovers and film fans alike gather to experience thoughtfully selected movies that spark conversation and connection. Screenings are followed by open discussions and opportunities to linger, reflect, and connect.
Membership is $15/month and supports the continuation of this program. All members are welcome to attend each screening, with snacks and drinks available for purchase with the option of BYOB. Proceeds from concessions are donated to humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
We’re kicking things off with a film that blurs the line between painting and motion picture: Loving Vincent (2017), the world’s first fully hand-painted feature film. The story is told through an animation of 65,000 frames, all of which were hand-painted by over a hundred professional oil painters. Directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, this visually stunning work investigates the life and mysterious death of Vincent van Gogh through animated oil paintings in the artist’s own style.
Join us as we bring cinema into conversation with art—one film at a time.
