Antonio Fava, Maestro of Commedia dell'Arte, will present his book “Vita Morte e Resurrezione di Pulcinella” (Pulcinella’s Life, Death and Resurrection), translated into English by Prof. Thomas Simpson (Emeritus) and Dan Zellner, at the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago.
“This work is not a philological or historical work. It is a work of aesthetics, poetics, and structural analysis on what is nowadays called Commedia dell’Arte. This type of theater is the most concrete, long-lived, structured theatrical genre or system of theatrical genres. The character of Pulcinella provides the powerful aesthetic-poetic, and structural basis for viewing Commedia.” – Antonio Fava
