Jean Albano Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of Sculptures by Chicago based artist JOHN MALOOF.

This is an in introduction to Maloof’s new body of work in sculpture. His abstract forms are painstakingly hand-crafted and beautifully finished. They embody a sense of organic life, growth and movement. Maloof draws inspiration from artists such as H. C. Westermann, Barbara Hepworth, The Hairy Who and Joseph Cornell. He has previously exhibited paintings both in acrylic and reverse acrylic on plexiglass.

In addition to his own artwork, John Maloof discovered the now famous photographs of Vivian Maier and was the co-director of the academy award nominated Documentary “Finding Vivian Maier.” Many of these photographs were recently donated to the University of Chicago.

The exhibition opens Friday, March 1, 2019 and will be on view through April 26. An opening reception will be held Friday, March 1 st from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Jean Albano Gallery
