Dear FLXST Art Lovers,

I love surprises. Chef Tatum Sinclair, Executive Pastry Chef at S.K.Y., Apolonia, and Valhalla, and her staff dropped by the gallery the other week to see the shows; the work inspired such a brilliant reaction by her and her crew. Of course, I love those types of responses. But I thought she was kidding when she proposed that FLXST and the restaurant Apolonia work on a collaboration. Her proposal seemed to come out of thin air. "Really?" I asked. She and her staff were in agreement. "Yes, of course!" Chef Tatum said. The challenge put forth to me: Curate a small show for Chef Tatum, which would be the inspiration for a dessert-tasting menu. She wasn't kidding. And now, a few weeks later, I am thrilled to announce the art and food event of Fall 2022: "Transcending Art through Flavor." 

Chef Tatum is creating a five-course dessert-tasting menu inspired by the work of artists that FLXST represents. You'll taste desserts inspired by the artwork of Katrina Andry, Vivian Chiu, David Willburn, Roberto Jamora, and Jaylen Pigford. Also fantastic is the wine-pairing (optional) curated by Jelena Prodan. Assuming you've eaten at S.K.Y. Restaurant, Apolonia, or the newest foodie haunt Valhalla in Fulton Market, you know that if anyone can create innovative and delicious desserts, Chef Tatum can.

Tickets are available on Tock. We will also exhibit the artwork that inspired the tasting menu in the restaurant for the event which will happen on November 14, at 7 pm.

The spirit of collaboration burns brightly in Motor Row! This collaboration brings two of my obsessions together, art and food, and I couldn't be happier. Apolonia and FLXST are also neighbors in Motor Row! I hope to see all of you there, even though tickets are limited.
