Eric Lebofsky is a visual artist, writer, and musician who lives in the suburbs of Chicago. Lebofsky received an undergraduate degree in visual art from Columbia University, and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Zolla/Lieberman Gallery is pleased to present&nbsp;Behind Blue Eyes, a solo exhibition by artist René Romero Schuler. On view from April 4 to May 10, 2025, the exhibition showcases Schuler’s continued exploration of the abstract feminine form through painting and sculpture. An opening reception will be held on Friday, April 4, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.Schuler is best known for her textured oil paintings, where feminine figures emerge from rich, tactile surfaces in monochromatic tones. Blending abstraction and figuration, her work examines themes of imperfection, interpretation, and intimacy while challenging societal expectations, particularly those placed on women.The title&nbsp;Behind Blue Eyes&nbsp;nods to a defining moment in Schuler’s career—her first Chicago exhibition over two decades ago. Drawing inspiration from The Who’s song of the same name, the title encapsulates her ongoing investigation of identity beneath surface appearances. This theme resonates throughout her work, where indistinct yet expressive figures serve as enduring symbols of resilience and empowerment.Featuring over 15 new paintings and sculptures,&nbsp;Behind Blue Eyes&nbsp;presents works that Schuler describes as more “curious and contemplative” than her earlier pieces. Three international artists -&nbsp;Eve Balashova, Lynne MacLachlan, and Ryungjae Jung - each utilize this modality of creating, exemplifying what it means to bring 3D printed jewelry to the highest standard. On April 17 from 6-8pm The Poetry Foundation will host a poetry reading, artist talk, and reception to celebrate the opening of the exhibition Escaramuza, the Poetics of Home. Free and open to all. The opening will feature an artist talk by Jaeggi, followed by readings by Sáenz and Silva, and closing with a celebratory reception featuring music by Sones de México Ensemble.&nbsp; A window into the subculture of Mexican American women’s equestrian performance, presented through poetry and photography, Escaramuza is a collaborative work by photographer Constance Jaeggi and poets Angelina Sáenz and ire’ne lara silva. The exhibition explores escaramuza, the team sport of women’s precision horse riding, addressing complex themes of identity, family, and gender with a lush combination of poetry and photography.&nbsp; Escaramuza, translated from Spanish as “skirmish,” is the team sport of women’s precision horse riding within charrería—the Mexican national sport of roping, equestrian activities, and working with cattle. Inspired by the soldaderas (women soldiers) of the Mexican Revolution, teams ride sidesaddle during intricately choreographed dances set to music while wearing vivid, traditional Mexican dresses. Pistachios is collaborating with Precious Collective to host an exhibition titled Things Unsaid, which will be at Pistachios from August 14, 2025 to October 26, 2025 before traveling to Munich Jewelry Week in 2026. The exhibition features 35 members from Precious Collective, an international community of artists that are bound together by their ambiguous definitions of what exactly ‘precious’ is in relation to jewelry. Conceptually, the exhibition will explore: What is a tangible manifestation for the things unsaid? How can we extend the voice of materiality through acts of making? Where does the metaphysical influence the language of jewelry? This is the first time Precious Collective will be featured in the United States. On Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm we'll be hosting a reception to celebrate the exhibition with Lynne Speake, the Founder and Creative Director of Precious Collective, in attendance.&nbsp;
