The Brauer Museum of Art, Valparaiso University

The Brauer Museum of Art houses northwest Indiana’s finest collection of American art. Treasures include works by renowned Hudson River School landscapists Asher B. Durand and Junius R. Sloan, and Impressionists Robert Reid and Frank V. Dudley. The twentieth-century collection incorporates diverse styles and genres with paintings and prints by Alexander Calder, Elaine de Kooning, Reginald Marsh, John Sloan, and Andy Warhol.

As illustrated above, the Brauer has a strong collection of Chicago artists, Dawoud Bey, Richard Hunt, and Ed Paschke. Escape the city and refresh your eye for American art by testing it against the Brauer’s remarkable collection.
