Common Ground: Lucca Colombelli & Maeve McGale

The debut Chicago solo exhibition of paintings by Lucca Colombelli; 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘰𝘯 𝘎𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 examines light as truth and gallery as ecosystem. Landscape-inspired oil paintings are complemented by an installation piece by Irish-born Chicago artist Maeve McGale. 

Together, Colombelli and McGale establish a "Common Ground", prompting viewers to contemplate their place within the natural world and the constructed environments they inhabit. This query is further enhanced by the tension between the industrial space and the installation.

Bringing the outside in and engaging with the gallery as a kind of third space, the exhibition aims to gather, identify, and celebrate our connections. Reflective of Colombelli’s philosophy towards both teaching and art dealing, Common Ground hopes to lead visitors to a shared realization that we are all much closer to a shared truth than we feel.
